Diary of a Salad Addict

Okay so listen. Junior year of high school was a rough time for ya boi Zyro, and I can remember the trauma like it was yesterday. This seems totally random btw and I know it, but I've been thinking about it all day and I want to know if anyone else has similar experiences.

Junior year, a still growing boy acquired a serious addiction. Keep in mind I am the stereotypical "artsy type"... I hated sports, hated participation, and didn't care much about what I was eating unless it was like actual trash, but a swiTCH FLIPPED. IT FLIPPED.

Suddenly I was absolutely obsessed with salad.

All types, all dressings, all toppings. As long as I could stick the leafy green goodness in my face I was a happy boy. I could only eat salad, like even the thought of eating anything else made me want to vomit and cry. Craving meat? Chicken ceasar salad. Improve my eyesight? Put some carrots on a salad. And this was a problem for a solid two months probably. This is too bizarre of a behavior for pizza-loving me to come up with.

I didn't even lose any weight because I ATE IT ALL BACK IN SALAD.

Anyway, the point of this is that I am curious if you ever got obsessed with a food you ate? Whether it be a new find or something as weird as salad, or it was a few days or a few months. Idk guys, just someone make me feel better about myself.

I don't know if I'd call it in an obsession but I really like watermelon. Like I can get rid of a watermelon the day it's bought.
Like I'll cut it in half and just eat it by the halves, I really love it.

At one point I ate a lot of french onion dip too, for like a good few weeks, I always had some around.

The watermelon thing is me with cantaloupe.

I like to think in over the whole salad thing, but it still holds some power over me. Can't resist the leafy goodness.

APPLE JUICE. I'm still fond of it but there was a point where it was my life. I didn't drink anything else, even water, for a good solid month :>

I had an addiction to those mini cheese wheels that come in the red wax wrappers. No idea what they're called, but they were darn tasty.
Now, I'm just a sad person who eats pizza rolls more than I should.

Orange Juice. I used to never drink it until up to a few months ago and now each time I am thirsty or probably just bored, I fill a large glass with it.
This is the first time I realized this problem I have.

This may sound really weird but I love lemons and anything lemon related.

I drink lemon juice maybe every day and eat them like an orange, other people look at me weird because I don't think they're sour or anything so I don't pucker my face or wince I just eat/drink it ;-;

oml i too had a salad kick at one point
junior year of highschool/grade 10 it just kicked in & it was like at that point i realized the perfection of a salad - it was crisp and it could be anything you wanted to be - savory, sweet, it's like a dream. salads are misjudged so harshly as some leafy green wackass food and that judgement is so wrong,,the beautiful thing about salads is that once you embrace them, they can be anything you want them to be. U PUT FRUIT UP IN THAT SHIT, BAM, U GOT A DESSERT. u want dinner? hell dude just put some meat in there, some bacon, chicken, croutons, ur set. i couldnt gotdam stop but i didnt care dude, im hyped up just thinkin bout it. tbh i doubt i ate anything else for about a month. bless up ya leafy green gods,,

i have a problem with gummy bears- like i'll eat 10 lbs of gummybears in a week easily-- this is why we dont keep them in the house anymore

Speaking of addicts, I myself was addicted to salads as well, last year. Everything had to be made of salad... like literally every freaking thing. But to be honest I quite enjoyed it haha. It was truly remarkable how well you could maintain your physical and mental state by just eating salad.
